When will my card stop working?
As of June 30 2014, your card will be closed and you will no longer be able to use it to make purchases or withdraw funds.
What will happen to my direct deposits?
Direct deposits can no longer be made to your card. If you still have direct deposit set up on your card, please contact your employer or benefits provider to have this changed IMMEDIATELY.
Can I keep loading money?
No, you can no longer load money to your MAGIC card. Any attempted loads made through transfers, Green Dot, MoneyPak, or direct deposits will not be processed.
Do I still have to pay any fees?
As of March 1, 2014, we stopped charging MAGIC Prepaid MasterCard fees. Please note, you may have incurred fees charged by merchants, ATM owners or operators, Green Dot, or other businesses where you used your card.
Can I still access my card information?
You will no longer be able to access the MAGIC card website after June 30, 2014. However, you can call us at 1.866.530.2272 for information about your card after that date.
What happens to my automatic payments linked to this card?
After June 30, 2014, any automatic payments connected to this card will no longer be processed. You should update automatic payment information as soon as possible.
What if I have money left on my card?
You have until June 30, 2014, to spend your card’s available balance. Within 30 days after that date you’ll automatically be sent a refund check for any available balance. Please note that the refund amount will not include any pending or disputed transactions, which may be refunded at a later time. Please make sure to update your contact information and address by calling 1-866-530-2272.
What should I do if I have money left in my MAGIC Savings Plan?
You have until June 30, 2014 to move money from the "saving side" to the "spending side" of your MAGIC card. After that date, you'll automatically be sent a refund check within 30 days for any available balance.
Will the cancellation of my card impact my credit score?
No, your card activity is not reported to the credit bureaus and does not affect your credit score.
